Sarah Lentini, president and CEO of the Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester, will step down in January to “pursue new professional opportunities.”

Sarah has done an outstanding job of leading the Arts & Cultural Council over the last 14 years,” said Grace Tillinghast, the organization’s board chairman, in a statement. “She has brought the council to such a high level of quality. I really admire what she has accomplished.”

Among Lentini’s accomplishments, Tillinghast said, were designing a new gallery and corporate facilities, creating a legal assistance program and founding Metropolitan magazine.

David Semple, the council’s director of development and grant programs, has been named acting executive director.
