In the benefit premiere of Decoding Annie Parker (2013, 91 mins.), the audience can see the story of two women who worked to discover a genetic link to breast cancer. Poetry is Jazz, an evening of literature, jazz and art presented by BOA Editions Ltd., features a reading by fiction author Douglas Watson from his The Era of Not Quite; jazz music by 4x4; and live painting by Cordell Cordaro. The Reel Mind Film Series continues with A Sister’s Call (2012, 76 mins.). Rebecca Schaper and Kyle Tekiela’s documentary explores how and why a loved one went missing and 20 years later, showed up on his sister’s doorstep suffering from paranoid schizophrenia.
