2 The city of Rochester celebrates the Genesee River during River Romance, a weekend of activities, including walking and gorge tours, Friday through Sunday. 3Meditative Stitches opens with a reception from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Cat Clay Studio in the Hungerford Building. The show, presented by Cat Clay and Pop Up ROC, showcases handcrafted paper art by Stefani Tadio and new work by Clifton Wood. Admission is free. 4Ghost The Musical, based on the Academy Award-winning movie, opens Tuesday at Rochester’s Auditorium Theatre. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through next Thursday; 8 p.m. Oct. 11; 2 and 8 p.m. Oct. 12; and 1 and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13. 5 The Genesee Country Village and Museum’s Fall Festival is a 19th century-style country fair featuring arts and crafts, a farmers market, entertainment and more. 6The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Ron Spigelman, will showcase hit tunes from the 1960s at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre. 7 Neighborhood of the Arts is hosting a Street Painting Party from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the corner of Anderson Avenue and Beacon Street.
