One-tank Trip: Hammondsport

From Rochester: About 75 miles south. A 90-minute drive.

Attraction: The 23rd annual Dollhouse and Miniatures Show opens Nov. 16 and will remain on display through Feb. 17 at the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum of Local History in Hammondsport, Steuben County. It features dollhouses of all styles and ages, from Victorian to farm to modern and many other special themes. Also included are model boats, machinery, cars, trucks and antique toys. Special Event: A Miniatures Show and Sale is planned for Nov. 30.

Hours and admission: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily; through April 30 (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day). Admission: $7.50; $6 for seniors (65 and older); $4.50 for ages 7 to 18; free for ages 6 and younger.

Getting there: Head south on Interstate 390 to Interstate 86 (Southern Tier Expressway). Proceed east on I-86 to Exit 38 (Bath); then head north on State Route 54 into Hammondsport.
