R&B singer Charlie Wilson will bring his smooth soul to Rochester.

Wilson has a 7 p.m. May 11 show scheduled at the Auditorium Theare, 885 E. Main St.

Wilson has had a long career, starting with his stint as lead singer of funk and R&B trio (and siblings) The Gap Band, who had a string of hits in the ’70s and ’80s. Wilson’s journey into the land of solo artist started late in life: 2004. His success has steadily climbed since earning two Grammy nominations for songs from his 2009 CD Uncle Charlie.
