Kneel before Zods.

The Kryptonian baddie General Zod is played by Michael Shannon in the upcoming summer Superman movie Man of Steel, and he also stars on toy aisles this spring and summer as part of the various action figures, construction sets, collectibles and other tie-in paraphernalia coming out with the film.

Mattel, LEGO and Funko are just a few of the companies teaming with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to release toys pegged to the movie (in theaters June 14), starring Henry Cavill as Superman and directed by Zack Snyder.

Like last summer’s Batman film The Dark Knight Rises featured everyone from the Dark Knight to Catwoman to the villainous Bane, Mattel is releasing a Movie Masters line ($14.99, arriving in June) featuring Zod, Supes and detailed versions of the movie’s main characters that look just like Shannon, Cavill and the rest. Plus, Mattel’s also putting out Man of Steel QuickShots, a new wave of figures harnessing two of Superman’s best traits: flight and strength.

Those looking for cuter versions of those two dudes — including the goateed Zod — can get the Funko Pop! vinyl figures ($8.99-$10.99, May) of each, with oversized heads perfect for one’s office desk or toy box.

LEGO has quite a few play sets spotlighting scenes in the movie, including “Metropolis Showdown” ($12.99, May) with mini-figures of Superman and Zod and a car just waiting to be thrown at one of those superhuman comic-book characters. (Heat vision sold separately.)

Many of the Man of Steel toys will by on display at Toy Fair in New York Feb. 10-13, and others fans can expect later this year include a role-play line from Thinkway Toys, Jakks Pacific and NECA collectible action figures, replica props from Noble Collection and high-end statues from Sideshow Collectibles and Kotobukiya.
