Here’s what the Twitterverse really likes: Employing the Jaws theme to cut off the long-winded at the Oscars tonight.
It’s “the greatest addition to awards ceremonies ever,” tweeted CNN’s Piers Morgan. “I’d add real sharks.”
The unmistakable thumping theme, revved up when someone can’t or won’t get off the stage in a timely fashion, launched scores of joke tweets and vows to import it into personal lives and onto smartphones.
“I’m going to start playing that jaws movie theme during our church announcements next week,” vowed Michael Cheshire, a Colorado pastor.
“If the Jaws music could cut off everyone I wish would stop talking, my problems would decease by at least 95%,” added Kristin D.
Naturally, not everyone agreed, as per usual on Twitter.
“I hate the jaws music they play,” tweeted Tessa Zalfen. “Yes we get it they are running out of time for their speech, but you don’t have to be disrespectful.”
