Shia LaBeouf breaks foot, keeps on truckin'

There is no way to make a broken-foot boot fashionable, but Shia LaBeouf is trying.
The 27-year-old is lugging around a big, gray brace on his left foot, but it has not slowed his social life or appearances. He’s even tweeting pictures of it.
On Monday, he dropped in to joke about it with David Letterman, then attended the New York premiere of his new movie, The Company You Keep, at the Museum of Modern Art.
Letterman, as usual, was exacting in questioning LaBeouf about how he broke his foot.
“I wish I could say it was wrestling tigers, but I was jumping rope,” LaBeouf said as the audience chuckled.
“I don’t know why they’re laughing, because it’s not funny,” Letterman cracked.
LaBeouf said he has been training for a possible project playing a boxer after he was fired from Broadway’s Orphans because of creative differences with Alec Baldwin. He told Letterman he and Baldwin are both impulsive and passionate so fireworks were inevitable.
Anyway, he has to wear the boot for another month, he said.
