Sometimes a Kickstarter project will generate a lot of press when it needs funding, but we don’t hear much about the final product.

Matthew Perkins received a lot of support when his proposed film, The Little Tin Man, sought money on Kickstarter. Thanks to fans’ enthusiasm and generosity, he was able to make it, and a trailer just popped up this week.

The Little Tin Man tells the touching and funny story of a frustrated dwarf actor (played by Aaron Beelner). When he hears Martin Scorsese is remaking The Wizard of Oz, he decides he’ll do anything to be cast … in any non-Munchkin role.

The film co-stars Kay Cannon, best known as a writer and producer for 30 Rock. It looks great, and I hope it’ll at least get an on-demand release:

Congrats to Matthew on the film. The Little Tin Man premieres at the Seattle International Film Festival June 1.
