Even though my daughter is still too young to watch movies, I’m already wondering how hard it will be to find kid-friendly fare that doesn’t drive me up the wall.

The French movie Moon Man looks like an excellent option for parents and children alike. Based on the children’s book of the same name, it tells the story of the “man in the moon,” who rides to Earth on a comet. His presence intrigues scientists and alarms the President, though the worst effect of his arrival is that children can no longer get to sleep.

I love the animation in this, and the story (not to mention the Moon Man’s voice) may remind parents of a movie they loved as kids, E.T.:

Here’s a clip where we get to hear more from the Moon Man:

Moon Man became available on demand today via VOD, iTunes, Amazon, YouTube and other platforms. Snuggle up with your favorite tiny person (or big person!) and take it in.
