'Wadjda': Preview Saudi Arabia's inspired first film

The plot of Wadjda sounds pretty relatable: A determined, Converse-wearing 10-year-old girl needs money to buy a bike.
What makes the story unique, however, is that the girl happens to live in Saudi Arabia, where women aren’t allowed to ride bicycles or drive cars or vote, for that matter.
Writer/director Haifaa Al Mansour has made history with Wadjda, the first film shot entirely in Saudi Arabia. I love this trailer, and not just because the title character and I have the same taste in footwear:
Humor, struggle, relationships … this one seems to have it all. Wadjda opens in limited release Sept. 13.
