This week five lucky Pop Candy readers won tickets to The World’s End, courtesy of Fandango. (Congrats to Scott, David, Kristina, Ed and Brian!)

Everyone who entered was required to answer one question: “What’s your favorite robot in pop culture?” I received many responses, with Futurama’s Bender and WALL-E leading the pack. Below are a few more highlights:

Several readers named Twiki from Buck Rogers. “Voiced by Mel Blanc and held his own with Gary Coleman,” writes Paul C. “What’s not to like?”

Eugene U. picked K-9 from Doctor Who: “What other companion has been as loyal and dependable?”

From Aaron K.: “Plex from Yo Gabba Gabba! is the best robot today in pop culture. He has amazing rhythm, and he runs on E-LEC-TRIC-I-TY.”

My favorite pop culture robot might have to be NEPTR from Adventure Time,” says Laura B. “So many good lines. (‘You cannot tell, but I am giving a thumbs-up.’) And who doesn’t love some good sneaking?”

Larry F. named the B-9 environmental control robot from Lost In Space. “I used to love that show and still remember the robot’s arms flailing and hearing the catchphrase ‘Danger, Will Robinson!’”

From Thomas B.: “There is no robot quite like Awesom-O from South Park. “As the song says, ‘He’s a cyber wire bundle of joy.’”

Several readers picked Conky, the “Secret Word” keeper from Pee-wee’s Playhouse:

And then there’s Gort from The Day the Earth Stood Still

Erika S. nominated “the beloved ’80s toy the Omnibot. My brother’s Omnibot provided endless hours of entertainment.”

My fave robot in pop culture is Vicki from Small Wonder, writes Heather E. “One year I went as Vicki for Halloween, and my mom convinced me that cleaning the bathrooms in our house would keep me ‘in character.’”

Another popular answer: Johnny Five from Short Circuit, of course.

And finally, I have to agree with Pop reader Mike D. that Rocky IV’s robot butler is pretty amazing. “Who wouldn’t want a robot that could bring you a cold beverage and scare the heck out of your pets?” he writes.

Thanks to everyone who entered, and stay tuned for more giveaways on the blog!
