A quarter century is quite a long time to go without being 100% certain about the identity of the father of your child.

But, such is life for actress Mia Farrow, who admitted as much in a recent interview with Vanity Fair.

When asked about her famous romance with Frank Sinatra, her husband from 1966 to 1968, Farrow calls the late crooner the love of her life and says, “We never really split up.”

So, might Sinatra, and not ex Woody Allen, be the father of her 25-year-old son, Ronan Farrow? “Possibly,” Farrow tells Vanity Fair scribe Maureen Orth.

That one little word has caused big buzz on the Web, and the article makes clear that no DNA tests have been performed to get a clear answer. (Sinatra died in 1998.)

Orth follows up with Sinatra’s daughter, Nancy, to find out if Ronan has had any ties to her famous family over the years. The singer’s somewhat cryptic response via e-mail? “He is a big part of us, and we are blessed to have him in our lives,” Sinatra says.

Very, very interesting.

But Ronan is not taking the “news” that seriously. “Listen, we’re all *possibly* Frank Sinatra’s son,” he quipped on Twitter.

In all, Farrow has 14 biological and adopted children, and Ronan told Orth he considers growing up in an eclectic, blended family a bonus.

I am so proud of my family. I grew up across the table from Moses, who has cerebral palsy, and next to my sister Quincy, born of a drug-addicted inner-city mother, and Minh, who is blind,” he says. “I could never have understood what it means to grow up blind or with cerebral palsy. I saw problems and needs, so the next thing you think is: O.K., what are you going to do about it?”
