Cool trailer: 'Losers Take All' embraces '80s punk

As someone who grew up in the ’80s, I can easily say that the bands from that decade are more meaningful to me than music from any other period.
A new movie follows a fictional ’80s punk band on the verge of making it big. Losers Take All asks the age-old question of whether it’s more important to stay true to your roots or “sell out” for the coveted fame and money.
The indie flick is presented by the Kevin Smith Movie Club and has the filmmaker’s blessing, which is interesting, since Smith himself crossed over from indie to the mainstream way back when.
While the story sounds intriguing enough, what reeled me in is Losers’ soundtrack, which includes many, many artists I love: Black Flag, Bad Brains, Husker Du, Dinosaur Jr., Alex Chilton, Minor Threat, Guided by Voices, Mission of Burma, the Meat Puppets, The Minutemen and more.
A trailer just popped up:
If lead actor Kyle Gallner looks familiar, you may recall him as “Beaver” on Veronica Mars. (He also plays Lou Reed in the new CBGB movie. Everyone is in that film!)
Losers Take All opens in select theaters and becomes available on demand Oct. 25.
