Fifty Shades of Grey fans, you don’t know what you’re missing.
Charlie Hunnam, who dropped out of the role playing kinky billionaire Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, sure shows he has the body for the part in Pacific Rim.
In these video clips from the DVD/Blu-Ray release on Tuesday, Hunnam shows off some serious biceps as he trains for the part.
“The key is just to show up just as fit as you can possibly be,” Hunnam says in the clip. Showing up, of course, being a key part of the strategy.
Hunnam took part in weight training and combat training for the Guillermo del Toro film featuring giant human-controlled Jaegers putting alien beasts in their very own Red Room of Pain (there is no mention of using whips, chains or paddles, however, which would have helped him with Christian).
Even co-star Charlie Day was impressed, commenting on his fellow actor’s abs, which were “mandatory for the part.”
In an exclusive clip, Hunnam talks about “drift,” which is what the controllers of the Jaegers undergo to control their fighting machines.
Meanwhile Fifty Shades of Grey fans will have to find another hot bod to play the part of Grey. No word on who will step in for Hunnam.
