VIDEO: Michael Sheen's 'Twilight' vampire rage

Did you ever wonder how Michael Sheen got so crazy playing the Volturi leader Aro in the Twilight series?
Turns out it was the worst set of contacts ever that was truly driving him mad.
The now calm star of Showtime’s Masters of Sex can talk about it now as part of the exclusive extras from Twilight Forever: The Complete Saga (released on Blu-Ray and DVD November 5).
In the clip, producer Wyck Godfrey points that Sheen had the “nastiest contacts of anyone on the movie.” And that’s saying something given that all vampires in the movie had to wear the bizarre eye creations. But director Bill Condon wanted an especially enhanced red look for Sheen’s vampire leader, which meant even thicker contacts.
“Everyone goes around complaining about the contacts,” says Sheen. “But nobody had them like I had them.”
It helped him play the part he says since “I could feel hysteria just under the surface all the time.”
Godfrey looks a little relieved finally being able to bring it up a year after the final movie came out in 2012.
“As a producer on the last day of shooting when Michael was finishing, I didn’t want to go up and hug him because I thought he’d want to kill me,” says Godfrey.
They can all laugh about it over drinks. But that does not mean Godfrey won’t get a red-eyed visitor in the night, exacting revenge.
