Last year I told you about a pop-culture book I was certain would be a hit: William Shakespeare’s Star Wars.

Sure enough, the Bard- and blockbuster-inspired tome landed on best seller lists, resonating with fans of the Force and the format. In it, Ian Doescher retells George Lucas’ saga as if it were a Shakespearean play, and he does it entirely in iambic pentameter.

Naturally, a sequel is on the way. In William Shakespeare’s The Empire Striketh Back, the story continues with more Elizabethan-style drama and memorable soliloquies. Today I have your first look at the cover.

The book goes on sale March 18, and a third installment (Shakespeare’s The Jedi Doth Return) arrives July 1. Something tells me Ian might pass on a translation of The Phantom Menace, but you never know …
